A new version has been released of one of the most popular Genesis( aka Megadrive) emulators for the PSP. It’s previous version was already quite good, all the roms I tested played and it had a nice little feature which is that it would take a screenshot of the game when you used a save state.
The older version was a bit slower than the PSP Genesis emulator however, after testing both the emulators just now with Sonic the Hedgehog at 222Mhz, clearly, DGen was much smoother in both Normal and Full Screen modes.
So, what are you waiting for, go get this great emulator and start playing your favorite Genesis/Megadrive games on the go.
NOTE: Do not download ROMs unless you own the original copy, or unless you plan on deleting them in less than a week and please do not ask where you can get them because your comment will be removed, do not ask in the forums either.

1where do u put the roms, do u have to rename them or sumthin?

2You put them anywhere, but I would recommend a folder inside the game folder called ROMS. That way you just open the folder in the menu and select one. I must also tell you that all Genesis games work, but MegaDrive uses a different format for music (say Sonic the Hedgehog 2) I really wanted to play it but the sound cuts off when the music loads. :(

10Me i say if you have a ver. 1.0 or 1.5 try reformatting your memory stick, i had to do it to run Snes9x on my psp on ver. 1.5; i upgraded to 2.0 and i am also having trouble as well, but i am goning to try to downgrade my psp b/c if the Snes9x emu didn’t run on psp ver. 2.0 or higher i figure that it might work if you try and to downgrade.

20Connect your PSP to your PC with a USB cable made specifically for PSP (found at Wal-Mart for about $5). Go to Settings –> USB Connection. Now you should have a removable disk drive added on to your My Computer window.
Go online and find a Emulator for PSP (Google it). Each game system (SNES, NES, SEGA, etc.) has there own emulator. Download file to Desktop (if .zip file, extract to Desktop after download).
Download the SEI PSP Tool (Again, Google it) to Desktop and extract to Desktop.
Open SEI PSP Tool folder –> SEI PSP Tool. You basically have 3 or 4 things to do here.
In the “Name” box type the name of the system emulator (i.e. if i have SNES emulator type SNES). In the “PHP” box, select the [...] box and find the EBOOT.php file you extracted from Step 2 (The folder should be on Desktop if you extracted to there). In the “drive” box select the drive the PSP is connected to (by default it should already be selected). Now *check* the box that says “Hide Corrupt Data Icon”. Now click “Generate”.
By this point the SEI Tool should have created a “GAME” folder and in the “GAME” folder should be *two* folders. The “emulatorname” and “emulatorname%” (Note: emulatorname is what you put in the “Name” box in SEI Tool).
Look for game roms (i.e. if you have a SNES emulator, go to Google and put “SNES roms”. There are tons of sites for this. (www.romnation.net has a good collection).
Download and extract roms to desktop. (After extraction put roms into any folder for easy access and later use).
Transfer roms to “emulatorname” folder (in step 6), not “emulatorname%” folder.
Select the “Back” button (usually circle) on PSP. Go to Game –> Memory Stick –> “Emulatorname”
Enjoy nostalgic fun!!

27I installed the genesis emu succesfully i believe, cause the DGEN logo appears on the mem stick, but when i try to use it i get, “this game cannot be started. Data is corrupted”. I haven’t installed the eloader by fanjitas, so i’m pretty shure that could be my problem, but i have a question about that… Do i absolutely need to install the GTA eloader, or will the TIFF eloader method would do…??? i have read that you can use either method for the 2.0-2.6 upgraded psp, but i have also read that for 2.0 you install the eloader trough the TIFF method (wllpaper), and for 2.1+ you need to do the GTA method… (even tough it’s the same eloader), can anyone confirm this, or tell me how to get it to work…?
i don’t mean to keep asking so many q’s but i have searched for hours on end… thanks for any help…
