First of all, don’t confuse this with “2.0 firmware cracked”, it has not yet but this is a very important stepping stone in order to achieve that goal. So… do not update your PSP’s firmware yet, there is still NO way to run homebrew software on the 2.0 firmware, and please do not blame us if you misread this. Now onto the article.

Yes ladies and gents, the kind folks at psphacks.net have announced that someone has been able to decrypt the DATA.PSP from the EBOOT.PBP.

For those which might be a little sceptical about it, here’s part of the code

So we should expect seeing the rebirth of “Hello World!” on the PSP very soon, and then all hell will break lose. I recommend you download the 2.0 updater, in case you already haven’t because the hosting sites might suffer from DOS once software starts appearing.

Once again, there is still no way to run homebrew software on the PSP. I only recommend that you download the file so it will be ready to run once the 2.0 firmware is cracked and you won’t struggle to find it then.
