There has been a lot of talk about Apple porting iTunes over to other platforms and hardware, and one of the big rumors was a version of iTunes for Sony’s PSP. Sony has been one of the sticking points when it comes to the iTunes Music Store, but it seems that they would be far more interested in working with Apple if it benefited their own products in some way. Well, if there was a version of iTunes for PSP, and if people could buy songs from the iTunes Music Store directly onto their PSP, that might give the PSP more value, which would be a good thing for Sony.
Some people are claiming this is fake. I don’t know enough about the PSP to know. What do you think?

1In Japan Sony has quit it’s online music store and is trying to obtain some sort of deal with Apple to sell music on their online store. If the deal does happen (which it hasn’t yet), Sony will probably want them to add support for their MP3 players on iTunes.
That’s where these rumors spread from.

2Aye, I think it depends on how much value Sony place on their own Sony Connect online music stores.
I’d certainly be more tempted by the PSP if this… Hang on, I don’t even buy music from the ITMS, I just like the iTunes software on Windows. Maybe if iTunes could sync with the other Sony players…
