First of all, please do not hold me, or ForeverGeek responsible if the downgrading of your PSP fails or renders your PSP useless. There are risks in downgrading, and if your PSP has a modern motherboard it will not work. A new motherboard would be a TA-082, and you can find out if your PSP has one or not by opening the UMD lid and try to read it on the inside.
xtrusion made a nice and simple executable, so all you have to do is simply run the EXE with your PSP in USB mode and it should work. However, (and I can’t help saying this too many times) this won’t work with TA-082 motherboards, so please check your PSP and make sure it doesn’t have this motherboard before moving on.
And if you succeed, welcome to the world of PSP homebrew :)

24I gave my psp 2.71 Ta-082 to have it downgraded, but It did not work and now I think its bricked. Its a black screen the green light comes on but no sound for it pwering up. To switch off the psp I have to hold the power button for 5 seconds before its switched off.
I then went a puchased a new motherboard 1.5 from Japan. I have the same problem. So either I have bought a bricked motherboard which I cannot test in another psp or there is another problem with it.
If any has experience the same problem, I look forward from hearing from you.

Shade

40For anyone using ” xtrusion 2.71 to 1.50 “. It’s NOT compatible for TA-082 units, It even says it on the description ( duhh ). And for the people who are using it.. Don’t be afraid when the red screen does not show in the ” Photo ” section. It is common when you click on it and it usually just freezes there sort-of. Just takes a couple of tries, from re-booting after failure to see the red screen. Hope any of this information helps guys!

42hi everybody. Am here to solve your problems on how to modify your psp,no matter the series on the motherboard. All you have to do it simply to write “HOW TO DOWNGRADE PSP (Your versionl) TO 1.50″ in youtube website which is “http://www.youtube.com”. Eg: How to downgrade psp 2.71(That mine psp version) to 1.50. I though that this could help you very much and thus follows the tutorial(clips).
