A guy named Matan Gillon has reported that he has successfully managed to boot up Windows 95 on his PSP by porting an open-source emulator called x86 to the portable system.
According to him, Windows 95 takes about 10 minutes to boot up but afterwards it’s pretty usable and you can even run some applications on it, however, for both Windows and Linux, he says you can only do so much with a mouse only, until someone makes a keyboard for the PSP both OSs are pretty limited.
If you’re interested in infesting your little beauty with Microsoft love check out his site and follow his simple instructions.

Too bad the little processor will never be fast enough to handle Tiger…

1I have managed to boot DLX Linux on my psp using Matan’s guide and it works fine - you just can’t do much without a keyboard… I do not know, however, how to make .img files of the win95 os so I can’t run that.

5Yea right!?!?!? I take only like 0ne minute to install a picture of windows in my PSP
here is how
1.- open some windows but not maximised.
2.- press Ctrl + print screen keys of your pc keyboard
3.- open paint and press ctrl + V of your keyboard
4.- whalaaa!! you must see your windows image
5.- go to File->save as (and save it as any name) (and JPEG file type)
6.-save to yor x:/PSP/Photo of your memory stick wich you use to view your pictures in your PSP
now exit the usb connection or insert the memory stick in your PSP, browse the photo and look for your windows picture open it and press triangle and choose full screen, use down arrow and whalaaa Windows in your PSP, take a picture of your entire PSP with this image and post it in any of your favorite forums and tell the world that you are an expert and that you are running windows in your psp. hahahahaha

July 16th, 2006 at 7:44 am
14Ok. i figured out how. But it’s CHEESY!!! at least with the bochs one you have the REAL Windows. and it’s possible to install games on it too. The portal version sucks, you can’t even right click!….
hey, um.. would it be possible to run bochs VIA a portal? like, taking the photo of windows out of the picture frame and standing bochs behind it or summat?

24done it, i run it on reverse devhook on my 2.71 hen-d psp, when running in devhook, it is limited to 15 mb of memory, the rest of it is system stuff, etc, it does work. to make an image: make your configuration file, and get a copy of MS-DOS images (i used 6.22). 2: point to the install images in bochs to run the setup 3: when dos is installed, put this line under the harddisk line in the config:
ata0-slave: type=cdrom, path=x:, status=inserted (replace x with ur cdrom drive)
4: put in the windows 95 cd rom, and set it up
5:when win95 is done installing, put an ms0: in front of all the paths in your bxrc file.
5: put the image, bios, vga bios and bxrc file in a folder called VM in the root of ur memory stick.
6: run bochs on ur psp and hope for the best

32TITS ON PSP
March 8th, 2007 at 8:28 am
33think first, why do you need win 95 on psp? once you’ve answered this its unlikely that its for more than one reason, if you want wifi, update to a later firmware, if you want dos games you can easily get a dos emulator for psp if you want win95 just to show ur friends and look cool, ur wastin ur time, pointless without a keyboard, and for people wanting to put linux on it…again without a keyboard, if you want all this just buy a laptop.
