One of my hobbies aside from collecting CDs is collecting action figures. It’s a hobby that I’ve been into on and off since I was in high school. Even though I’ve drastically limited the figures I’ve collected over the years (I’m more discerning now), there are still some toy lines that I get if I fall in love with it.
The recent Transformers line is one that I knew I would collect the moment I saw it. I loved the cartoon series when I was a kid and even used to collect the big Transformers toys, which I sadly had to sell when I got into comics. I didn’t like the Michael Bay-directed live action feature but the toys are another matter. These ones are real kick-ass toys. The level of articulation is so much more improved and transforming them is a more complicated, and ultimately more satisfying process.
I recently went on a Transformers buying binge a couple of days ago to add to the other Transformers toys I bought before. New additions to my collection are the Voyager Class Optimus Prime, the classic Grimlock (had to buy two of these because my son is into dinosaurs), and the Desert Attack Pack that contains both Blackout and Scorponok. Overall, it was a fairly satisfying bunch that I was able to acquire.
Of course, those are not the only things I got. I’ll tell you guys more about it tomorrow. Right now, I have to open my toys and play with them.
