The month of August is coming to an end, and we all know that the best way to end it is with a bang. Coincidentally, Cosplay Day also falls on the last weekend of August, so geeks all over the world have something to celebrate and go all out for.
So have a little fun, and bring out your not-so-inner geek with these awesomely (and hilariously) one-of-a-kind and weird cosplay ideas!
Lord Farquaad (Shrek)
Lord Farquaad may not be the usual first choice for any cosplayer, but that’s what makes it a great idea! It’s unique, funny, and makes you reminisce a great animated film like Shrek.
Lazy Thor (Avengers)
In honor of Avengers: Endgame, dress up as our favorite God of Thunder. But who wants to see a chiseled, put-together Thor, when you can have this much more easy going, laid back guy? I, for sure, would love to hang out with this guy.
Reign supreme at any cosplay event with this Leeloo costume. Who says you have to be a woman to sport this look, huh? Anyone looking like this will surely look the part of a powerful weapon against the Great Evil.
Edna and The Parr Family (The Incredibles)
This one’s a tribute to the eccentric Edna who is the Parr family’s most loyal and brilliant confidante. She may not be a superhero, but without her, the Parr family wouldn’t have all their cool costumes.
Beavis and Butt-Head
Weird and creepy are just two ways to describe the photo above, but I guess it fits the personalities of these two socially awkward, rock/metal-loving delinquents.
I’m not really sure how we went from Jynx the Pokémon to this creature here, but at least she tried!
Johnny Bravo has the confidence level like no other, which is why this is the perfect cosplay outfit. You may appear ridiculously overconfident, but hey, you might charm the ladies there (or drive them away).
Stewie Griffin (Family Guy)
If you want to go as a weird, talking, sarcastic (or sadistic) 1-year old whose head is the size of a football, then Stewie Griffin is your best bet!
Round up the gang, and dress up as your favorite Sims characters (complete with The Plumbob and all). It’s funny, wholesome (except for that pixelated guy over there), and lots of fun!
R2-D2 (Star Wars)
R2-D2 is usually an awesome, reliable cosplay outfit that you can really get creative with. I don’t know how this guy did his costume, but it certainly doesn’t seem like a lot of effort was put in. Lol!
Peter Pan and Shadow
This one’s probably been done before, but it’s still super brilliant. Try this with your bestie or significant other, and you guys will surely be one tough duo to beat at cosplay!
Jon Snow White
If you want a cross between Game of Thrones and Snow White, you can go as… Jon Snow White! Because why not?!
Professor Quirrell / Voldemort (Harry Potter)
This one’s a bit tough because you would be going as Professor Quirrell, but really, you’ve got Voldemort attached to you like a parasite at the back of your skull. Thing is, you have to shave your head for this, but it’s definitely worth it!
Take inspiration from these two, and go as an old black and white photograph, but this time, update it to one of the most exciting things to come this year – WandaVision! You won’t only have a blast taking photos, and dressing up, but you’ll also look good doing it!
I know, I know. Another Thor costume, right? How can we not include this awesome (but weird) McThor costume?
Sailor Freddie Mercury
Here’s another play on words that would win you an award for wittiest costume ever. Yes, you may look like a grown ass man dressed up as a Japanese schoolgirl, but anything for the sake of art, right?
Scare the bejesus out of some eventgoers with this Ratatouille chef costume.
Handsome Squidward (Spongebob Squarepants)
If there were a choice between going as regular Squidward or handsome Squidward, the latter is probably the wiser and funnier choice. Don’t you agree?
Super Mario Brothas
This one’s my favorite. Who better to represent the Super Mario Brothers than these brothas right here? For sure, these guys can pull off such an outfit!
Life of Pi
If you want to go for a deep and meaningful outfit, go for this Life of Pi inspired costumes. It’s certainly unexpected. Just make sure to nail it, unlike these guys over here.
Rainbow Dash is certainly a character we all love from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. She’s just this adorable ball of sunshine and rainbows. Just make sure you emulate those when you decide to dress up as her, okay?
