As the month of June came to an end, the Amazing Las Vegas con wasn’t the only geeky event taking place in Las Vegas. Appropriately staged at the Avengers Station, the crew from the Las Vegas Geeked Out podcast and radio show hosted iconic X-Men writer Chris Claremont and Joe Rubenstein, the man who inked the original Wolverine limited series and is the man who has the Guinness World Record for inking more comic book characters than any other in history. Joining them was Doctor Suzana Flores, the writer of the new book, “Untamed: The Psychology of Marvel’s Wolverine“, who, in her own interview segment talked about her harrowing real life experience that acted as the inspiration for writing about everyone’s favorite Canadian X-Man and the trauma she discovered that made him the hero he is.
In the video above, you’ll find that Chris Claremont has no shortage of alternate and extremely detailed takes on our favorite mutant heroes’ stories, both in comics and in the FOX film franchise. His ideas on the X-Men that could have been are so detailed and so good that, if you’re a HUGE X-Men fan, they’ll give you goosebumps.
Recorded at the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, this is the Geeked Out crew’s first full podcast recorded in front of a live audience and has many segments that are worth listening to, even if you don’t want to keep your eyes on it the whole time. The first part includes lots of audience interaction, but if you want to hear about Suzana Flores’ Wolverine book interview, scrub ahead to 44 minutes into the video. And you’ll find the introduction to the Joe Rubenstein and Chris Claremont segment starts at 1 hour and 7 minutes.
If you want to hear more from the Las Vegas based Geeked Out crew, you can listen to them on Deftal Radio online or through their mobile app live Wednesdays at 2pm Pacific time.
