These were the “Most Talked About Games” from this year’s E3, via social media as of Tuesday. Seems to be a massive amount of buzz around the new Legend of Zelda game and the new God of War, with some heavy buzz for the new Battlefield falling between the two.
The only thing that is sad is when you look at this list as whole representing the industry of gaming, it shows you just how much originality is lacking in gaming right now. While E3 2016 was staggering and had some mind blowing moments (and is far from over), the one trend we are seeing so far is, sadly, sequels and reboots being the order of the day. Gazing down the list and trying to find an original or new I.P getting any recognition is almost impossible. Cool, an open world Zelda that does look stunning deserves the hype, but it would have been nice to see more indie and original games listed among the vets.
At this point, hearing about a new Halo is about as shocking as hearing thunder outside. Cool for a second but then we realize we hear it every year and the excitement quickly passes. No offense to that great series, but just saying. The list of faves and most talked about games from E3 2016 is none-too-shocking.
