I can admit, I was one of the many people let down by Dawn of Justice, but makes NO mistakes. This did not turn me away from the DC movie universe. Batman has been handled wonderfully and handled terribly in the past, but I didn’t skip The Dark Knight because Batman and Robin sucked, and I feel the same way about the Justice League movie. I have high hopes and will judge it on its own. That said, more and more story details about the forthcoming Justice League movie have begun to make the rounds, and seems we are in for an interesting story that hopefully can undo some of the damage done by Dawn of Justice. Yes, we will still see it even if we didn’t like D.O.J, but we will hold it to an even higher scrutiny. I think the people behind the DCU know this and wont let us down. I hope, I should say.
About the plot, from DenOfGeek:
Suddenly, the police commissioner is face-to-face with three fabulously costumed do-gooders he’s never met before. It is in this moment that Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, and Cyborg are at last working together in what appears to be near the end of their film’s first act. And lest the vision of rain-soaked rooftops and lightning-illuminated sets remind you too much of last March’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its ominous tones, this Justice League sequence immediately lets observers know they’re playing a whole different ballgame.
After all, when Gordon becomes confused by Wonder Woman uttering the word “Parademon,” Batman explains with perfect deadpan, “Flying Monkeys.” Just like that, you know you’re no longer in the DCEU’s version of Kansas.
All you have to say is Parademon and I am on board. Sounds batshit insane (pun intended) enough to MAYBE work. And don’t forget, J.K. Simmons will be playing Commissioner Gordon, so you know that alone is worth the price of admission. Or should I say, COMMISSION?
No, no I shouldn’t. That is hackneyed, low-hanging fruit.
