Remember that funny photo that went around some months ago? The one with the line “That awkward moment when zombies go past you”? Well, if you had this special brain, no one would pass you up. Maybe not even walkers.
This guy, Andy Mills, made a pretty cool brain using, of all things, chocolate! Then again, if you think about it, chocolate has been molded into practically all sorts of stuff, so a chocolate brain isn’t all that novel.
What makes this chocolate brain a tad cooler is that it is actually modeled from an MRI scan. So yes, it is an accurate representation of what controls the human body. Andy Mills had his brain MRI scanned, and the guys at Inition decided to use the copy of the scan to make a chocolate brain. According to their post, the steps are pretty straightforward.
- Converting sliced DICOM data into the STL file format (a 3D geometry format widely used for 3D printing)
- Editing that model to clean up
- 3D printing a solid model
- Producing a latex mould
- Finally casting the chocolate and eating
And in case you are not sure how to eat brains, albeit made of chocolate, here is a video that will how you how.
Although I am a rather squeamish person, I do not think I would mind biting into my own brain if I had the chance to make a chocolate model! What about you? Cool or not?
