Anyone who’s seen My Neighbor Totoro surely has dreamt of riding the Cat Bus. I know I have. It’s actually one of the things on my “Want to Ride Bucket List” (Appa is also on that list).
What’s making my imaginary (maybe) tail wag like crazy is that, anyone who is in Japan – or can go to Japan – can now ride a real-life Cat Bus, thanks to the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka.
Starting July 16, the museum is holding an exhibit called “All Aboard! The Cat Bus to the Ghibli Forest”.
The famous Totoro Cat Bus is only a part of the exhibit, as there are other items and images to be displayed as well. According to the organizers:
“We have taken another look at all of our past exhibitions to revisit key themes and reimagine our presentations. After going deep into our warehouse to extract hidden treasures, we have stuffed our exhibition space with a collage of items and images from all of our exhibitions… ”
The exhibit runs till May 2017. Check out the real Totoro Cat Bus and save up for a trip to Japan.
