Ken Kutaragi admitted in an interview with a Japanese gaming site that when playing graphically intensive games like Ridge Racer, as opposed to simple puzzle games, the PSP’s battery life may be considerably shorter than the initial estimates.
The original estimates were also figured with headphones rather than using the built-in speakers, the wireless networking feature turned off, and the screen dimmed to a certain level.
Looks like something fishy is going on over there at Sony. Ken claims that “in the future” as battery technology advances, they will revise the system to increase the battery life. What that means for people that may actually want to buy the system when it comes out, is up in the air for now. Just be warned that if you buy an early version you may be spending a lot of time next to a power plug.
