The news of Red Dead Redemption becoming backwards compatible on Xbox One this coming Friday might be pretty great news to those of you who own the system, but still, this only needs one response? Where the hell is our Rockstar Red Dead sequel (or prequel) we keep kinda hearing about yet hear nothing about? A Red Dead that is playable on a modern console is great, but come on. Red Dead is hailed as one of the best games of all time, and deservedly so.
So why are Rockstar playing with us?
Easy answer. They have it and are perfecting it and making sure it is 90% ready to be released by the time they announce it. Simple, really. Rockstar half-ass nothing and to assume a Red Dead sequel would be anything less than the game all the fans have been clamoring for is to insult the amazing company behind it. Think about the time between GTA 4 and GTA 5? There was a wait, but GTA 5 defied all expectations, and I can bet money Red Dead’s inevitable sequel will be no different.
The problem is how much longer are we going to have to wait? There is n0 easy answer to that, actually. The only thing we can tell you is we know it will be WELL WORTH IT. And if the rumor is true about it being a prequel, if we get to be a young John Marston, I will wait another 5 years, no joke. In the meantime, who wants to get their ass whooped at some liar’s dice?
