I get emails a lot from ambitious geeks who do ambitious things asking me to share their creations. And if I could I would share it all, but I would be typing all day every day and would eventually die of starvation, so I can’t. I need to be somewhat selective in what I choose. In the case of the “video game soda machine” project, I found myself quite awed by the level of commitment it has taken creator Jess Morrissette to create such an ambitious project. What is that project you ask?
So far she has around 450 soda machines and climbing, and even going through the list gives you awesome flashbacks to games you may have played but somehow forgotten. It is a trip! Now I know the first question could be why, but look at a game like Minecraft and you have your answer. We geeks are a creative lot and how we expunge that energy is up to each individual. In Jess’ case, she started noticing a lot of soda machines in games and started keeping track. You wouldn’t think it would be as massive in scope as it is, but seems like there are soda machines in a great deal of games and she has her work cut out for her. But regardless, I was just impressed with her dedication, and I think you geeks would appreciate her work too. On top of that, she wants your help!
If you know of any in game soda machines she missed you can, in her own words, ‘hasten her descent into madness’ and help her. Hit her up and let her know! We do love helping our own kind.
